Native American Roots

I'm feeling a bit verbose tonight. I have a lot of stuff ruminating in my mind, so I'm going to just type and see what comes out.

I'm getting more interested in my Native American heritage. My grandmother is quite involved in the Tribe and it's matters. We're Mohegan. The Mohegan Tribe was once a conjoined tribe with the Pequot Nation.

I wish I was more familiar with my ancestral roots. I wish I knew more about things like Naming Ceremonies and other ceremonies important to my Tribe. I want to know where my grandmothers came from.

My grandmother, Ruth E. Sweet, is very much interested and involved in our heritage. Her Mohegan name is Magnolia Blossom. My name is Doe Eyes. My children are Spider, Lark, and the youngest is yet to be named. Chubby Bald Baby will suffice for now. :)

From what I can find online, our language is Algonquin. And the Tribe operate the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT.

I fear when my grandmother dies. For, when she dies, so does much history and information.
